#TravelTuesday – Prince Edward County

People love Prince Edward County and flock to it year-round. Its natural beauty is just a bonus to the copious amounts of wineries, breweries and restaurants it has to offer.

Prince Edward County (lovingly known as PEC) can be a perfect spot for your last hoorah with you and girls. If you don’t know where to start, we here at KEP have scoped out a few amazing places for you to check out:

WHERE TO STAY

The June Motel

Some of you may have heard of The June as the one of the most Instagram worthy places to stay, and well what you heard is not wrong. This remodeled motel was designed for you to enjoy great wine and good vibes. It has everything you can think of when choosing a place to stay, from great drinks and food, to outdoor spaces and Saturday morning yoga.

KEP Tip: The June offers a Bachelorette package where you can work with the motel to organize customized events such as a garden party in their backyard.

WHERE TO VISIT

Norman Hardie Winery

Is pizza and wine the way to your heart? Than look no further! Start by taking Norman Hardie’s wine tour and finish the tour off with their wood-fire pizza.

KEP Tip: Plan on visiting early or on weekdays if you’re craving their famous pizza. It’s super popular and often sells out.

Karlo Estates

This winery is the first vegan certified winery in the world! If one or more of your crew is vegan be sure to stop here. They offer daily tours and a wine for everyone to enjoy so make sure to check them out.

KEP Tip: After your tasting, grab your girls and a couple bottles of their Patio Reserve Rosé and relax in one of their many lounge areas. The lawn couch is the perfect daytime hang out spot for large groups.

Hinterland Wine

Love sparkling wine and ciders above all else? Head on over to Hinterland for a tour.

KEP Tip: Hinterland requires reservations for tour groups of 6 or more so make sure to call ahead.

Prince Eddy’s Brewery

We know almost everyone loves wine, but we also know almost everyone loves beer. Thank goodness PEC has more to offer than just wineries. Go have a taste of Prince Eddy’s beers that are fit for the elements.

KEP Tip: Go on a weekend so you can experience a delicious jerk chicken sandwich from the Jerkebago Charcoal Grill stand. It pairs great with Prince Eddy’s velvety smooth C.R.E.A.M. Ale.

Kinsip House of Fine Spirits

Not a fan of wine and beer? Kinsip House of Fine Spirits is your boozey buoy in a sea of breweries and vineyards. Kinsip ferments, distills, and ages a variety of light and dark liquors for every palette. All of their tours include a taste of their whiskey barrel aged maple syrup which is to die for.

KEP TIP: Sign up for their delightfully named Kinsip’ers Club Membership. For $200 a year you get two boxes of booze a year, first dibs on new products, and lots of great swag.

WHERE TO EAT

The Drake Devonshire Inn

Did you know The Drake Hotel in Toronto has a sister property in PEC? The Drake Devonshire’s in-house restaurant features local, seasonal fare paired with heavenly views of Lake Ontario.

KEP Tip: Go for brunch and order the Chicken and Waffles topped with syrup made right in PEC.

Seedlings

Seedling is being touted as the new hot spot in the region and for good reason. This farm to table restaurant has a constantly changing menu and charming, cozy decor. It’s sure to become a fixture in the PEC dining scene.

KEP Tip: Don’t miss their brunch service starting in May of 2018.

WHERE TO PARTY

The Hayloft Dancehall

Simple as that, it’s a bar in a barn. With live music every Friday and Saturday this place screams good times.

KEP Tips: The Hayloft offers a convenient shuttle from popular areas all over PEC so you don’t have to worry about recruiting a designated driver.

The PEC is sure to not disappoint. There are so many activities this county has to offer, we haven’t even tipped the scale. So, grab your favourite drink and grab you favourite babes and start planning your getaway to Prince Edward County right away!

Until next time,

Xoxo KEP
