For over 20 years, we have guided couples through the planning process with clarity, confidence, and thoughtful attention to detail. Our role extends far beyond managing timelines and vendor communications. We provide strategic leadership, refined design direction, and seamless execution, ensuring every celebration is approached with intention and expertise.

Meet Shannon Kennedy – Founder & Principal Planner
“I love trying great food, enjoying an expensive cocktail, and travelling the world. I have a pug named Gus. I cannot start my day without a latte, and I love sleeping in on Sunday mornings.”
I founded Kennedy Event Planning in 2010, after gaining years of experience working within the wedding and events industry, including leadership roles at respected hospitality and event venues throughout the Ottawa region. What began as a passion for exceptional events evolved into a career dedicated to helping couples navigate one of the most meaningful celebrations of their lives with confidence and ease.
My greatest strength lies in combining strategic planning, logistical expertise, and calm leadership. I thrive on solving complex challenges, anticipating issues before they arise, and creating an experience that allows my clients to feel supported from beginning to end. While design is an important component of every wedding, I believe the most successful celebrations are those that feel effortless, intentional, and deeply personal to the couple at the centre of them.
Clients often describe me as professional, trustworthy, approachable, and remarkably calm under pressure. Whether managing an intimate celebration or a large-scale wedding, my goal remains the same: to ensure every detail is thoughtfully considered so that my clients can be fully present on their wedding day.
While I am not planning weddings, you’ll likely find me travelling internationally, discovering exceptional restaurants, enjoying a good documentary, or spending time with my pug, Gus.
Fun Facts:
- I’m a huge Lionel Richie fan – “All Night Long” is one of my favourite songs and play it before every wedding reception!
- I suffer from major #wanderlust and have travelled to Europe, North + South Africa, Central America, Southeast Asia, and all over North America. When I’m not working, I’m travelling!
- I was a two-time president of my international sorority, Delta Delta Delta, while attending the University of Ottawa.
- I am an only child and was a total Daddy’s girl growing up.
- I’m an adrenaline junky and have zip lined, bungee jumped, whitewater rafted, and cliff jumped. Next adventure: skydiving!
